Featured Program: Building a Personal Brand
For Lawyers and Law Firm Business Leaders
Personal branding has become one of Lauren's most requested workshop topics, and it is a natural fit for her background. Every professional has a personal brand, whether they are managing it or not. These interactive sessions help lawyers take ownership of how they are perceived, get clear on what makes them distinctive, and learn how to communicate it with confidence. Firms benefit when their people show up at their best.
Lauren delivers these workshops to law firms and legal organizations in formats ranging from a 90-minute introductory session to a full-day program paired with individual coaching. Each one is interactive, grounded in research, and informed by the neuroscience of how the brain forms new patterns. At least half of every session is participant driven, with guided exercises, paired practice, and small group work.
What participants take away:
Greater clarity on their Unique Value Proposition, and the language to begin articulating what makes them distinctive
A grounded understanding of why authenticity and purpose make a personal brand more powerful and more sustainable
A concrete sense of the highest-impact, most comfortable ways to build visibility
A personal branding worksheet with prompts, reflections, and next steps to return to after the session
Workshops can be tailored to the goals of the firm and the specific group, whether the audience is special counsel, newly elevated partners, or another cohort of professionals. For groups that want momentum to continue past the workshop, Lauren offers individual coaching that helps participants work through the quieter obstacles standing in the way of execution.
Featured Series: Storytelling
The Art of Storytelling for Litigators
Storytelling, emotion, and practice can give litigators a real edge. At the end of the day, whether it is the judge, the clerk, or even your own client reading your written work product, being right on the law and the facts only carries you so far. A true storyteller can change hearts and minds in a way that takes efficacy and advocacy to a whole new level. The same holds for oral advocacy, where the lawyer who can frame a compelling narrative moves a courtroom in ways that a straight recitation of facts never will.
This practical program teaches the essentials of storytelling for litigators, with takeaways they can put in place immediately to change how they approach written work product and how they prepare for oral advocacy. This program also includes a little of the science behind why story works so powerfully on the brain. Lauren learned the value of storytelling firsthand as a federal prosecutor, working with juries and grand juries in complex white collar cases.
Storytelling: A Secret Weapon in Business Development
Story can take the pressure off the "sales" part of business development. For lawyers who are disinclined to "sell", but who know that building awareness of their services and their firm matters to their own success and the ongoing success of the firm, storytelling offers a more natural path. It can make business development conversations, networking, client pitches, and even cross-selling with colleagues feel far less stilted.
Lawyers have only so much time in the day. The more memorable they make themselves in every interaction with a potential client, the less time they need to spend courting those clients. If a lawyer is going to take the time to attend an event, speak on a panel, or pitch a client, making that time more effective and more memorable is worth every bit of the preparation. Here too, I bring the neuroscience of storytelling. I came to this work not only through the courtroom, but also through growing my own substantial book of business in private practice before becoming a coach.
Purpose in Practice
A Meaningful and Sustainable Legal Career
This session offers experienced lawyers a way to stay connected to a sense of purpose in their careers. Drawing on neuroscience-backed coaching techniques and nearly 20 years of experience in private practice, Lauren Paxton explores how a clear sense of professional identity, personal agency, and authentic direction can keep a demanding legal career meaningful and sustainable over time.
For lawyers well into their careers, the challenge is rarely competence — it is staying connected to why the work matters. Years of pressure, shifting priorities, and accumulated obligations can quietly erode that sense of purpose. This session helps seasoned practitioners re-anchor to what drew them to the profession, and make deliberate choices that sustain both their engagement and their wellbeing.
This session can be delivered as a keynote or an interactive workshop and tailored to the needs of your firm, legal organization, or professional association. Contact us to bring Purpose in Practice to your organization.
